Short Code Registry

Short Codes offer marketers unique opportunities to engage their audiences via text messaging. Short Codes are five- or six-digit codes that may be personalized to spell out a company, organization or a related word. Many organizations may choose to use Short Codes to send premium messages, which may charge subscribers additional fees for informative or promotional services such as coupons or news updates.

The Short Code Registry maintains a single database of available, reserved and registered short codes. CTIA administers the Common Short Code program, and iconectiv became the official U.S. Short Code Registry service provider in January, 2016.

For more information, please see the Short Code Registry’s Best Practices and the Short Code Monitoring Handbook.

Growing Wireless

Wireless technology is changing the way kids communicate, learn and play, and it is important that parents understand what wireless services and products are available so they can help their kids use them appropriately.

Together with parents, CTIA and its members want kids to be responsible wireless consumers. Growing Wireless provides parents of connected kids with the information they need to better understand what technology their kids are using and to talk with their kids about responsible use of wireless devices, as well as the family rules and consequences if those rules are broken. Stolen Phone Checker

CTIA’s Stolen Phone Checker – powered by the GSMA Device Check service – is a public service designed to limit the resale of lost and stolen mobile devices in the United States and to help consumers, businesses, and law enforcement agencies make informed decisions about the status of a mobile device.

CTIA’s Stolen Phone Checker lets consumers and commercial users know if a mobile device is reported lost or stolen before they make a purchase. In addition, law enforcement can check – and hopefully return – found mobile devices to their rightful owner.

Certification Resources

For more than 30 years, CTIA Certification and its working groups have developed industry standards and best practices for the mobile wireless industry. CTIA Certification programs are recognized globally as the gold-standard. They are utilized by network operators and device manufacturers, and now consumers, through the WISE ™ certification program, to ensure quality and reliability.
