This Week in 5G: With a 5G Network Here and a 5G Network There

This week is all about 5G launches, with providers turning on 5G in communities across the country. Let’s dive into the latest:

T-Mobile announced six 5G cities and launched the Samsung Galaxy S10 5G. The device will work on the provider’s 4G network, and on 5G where it is currently available—Atlanta, Cleveland, Dallas, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, and New York.

AT&T turned on 5G in their twentieth city—Las Vegas—this week. Their 5G network is available to commercial users using the Samsung Galaxy S10 5G.

Meanwhile, Verizon announced mobile 5G is available in Denver and Providence, Rhode Island. These cities join Chicago and Minneapolis as first of the provider’s 5G mobile network launches.

Ericsson shared plans for their U.S. smart factory. The facility will produce radios for 5G networks and is expected to be open by early 2020.

That’s all for This Week in 5G. We’ll be off next week—enjoy your Fourth of July!
