HOUSTON, WE HAVE 5G LIFTOFF
Verizon and Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner announced this week that the wireless carrier will bring residential 5G services to the Space City.
THE CITIES OF THE FUTURE LOOK SAFER
Samsung’s ‘5G City,’ in Suwon, South Korea, now has a ‘5G Stadium’ where visitors can watch high-definition videos with no buffering. The city’s ‘5G Connectivity Node’ provides insight on how 5G will enable smarter and safer cities.
AN ANTENNA HOW SMALL?
How do we create antennas? Well, Qualcomm announced an antenna module the size of one fingernail, small enough to plant in smartphones, but also capable of using millimeter waves for 5G. With it will come lightening-fast internet speeds.
CTIA GOES TO CAPITOL HILL
CTIA’s President and CEO, Meredith Attwell Baker, meanwhile testified at a Senate Commerce hearing this week on the global race to 5G.
