AT&T’s 5G is Around the Corner
AT&T announced it is weeks from the launch of mobile 5G. They will bring next-generation services to parts of twelve cities before the end of the year and will expand to more cities throughout 2019.
Samsung Partners for 5G
Samsung and NEC have partnered to expand their 5G developments. This partnership brings together NEC’s IT specialization with Samsung’s expertise to offer customized 5G services to different mobile providers.
Qualcomm Goes Small
Qualcomm introduced a new millimeter wave antenna, its smallest yet. Smaller than a penny, the antenna will give device manufacturers increased flexibility in developing smartphones for 5G networks.
3.5 GHz Adoption
The FCC voted to adopt changes to the 3.5 GHz spectrum rules this week at the October Open Meeting.
Spectrum Goes Presidential
The Administration announced a memorandum on national spectrum policy, directing federal agencies to create a national spectrum strategy in the next nine months.
