Sprint completed the first 5G data call across 2.5GHz commercial network spectrum in a partnership with Nokia and Qualcomm. The call marks another milestone reached in the pursuit of Sprint’s 5G launch in the first half of 2019.
T-Mobile confirmed that they launched 5G equipment in 30 cities including New York, Los Angeles, Las Vegas and Dallas in 2018.
Vodafone and IBM announced a deal to bring the benefits of wireless connectivity to cloud computing, paving the way for complex business networks to take advantage of 5G-enabled artificial intelligence applications.
Sprint installed Massive MIMO equipment on towers in Atlanta in preparation for the Super Bowl. The radios will be easily transitioned to 5G use through a software update.
