5G upgrades continue as spectrum gets repurposed and new spectrum opens for future service experimentation. Let’s take a closer look.
AT&T is repurposing spectrum currently used for 3G services to make way for 5G networks. 3G services will be retired by the provider in February 2022.
The FCC has opened spectrum licenses for “terahertz wave” range between 95 gigahertz and 3 terahertz, spectrum that can be used for innovative use cases for future services.
New Orleans adopted new regulations that welcome small cell infrastructure build out in the city, paving the way for 5G networks enabling smart city technology.
