WASHINGTON – Please attribute the following to CTIA® Vice President, Regulatory Affairs, Matt Gerst.

“The FCC is missing an opportunity to use smartphone solutions to provide vertical location data for millions of 9-1-1 callers nationwide by April 2021. The wireless industry has been working tirelessly for years on this important issue, and we will continue to work with the FCC and public safety stakeholders on enhancing location information for wireless 9-1-1 callers.”
