CTIA Statement on Nomination of Doreen Bogdan-Martin as Secretary General of the ITU .
“We are proud to support Doreen Bogdan-Martin’s historic candidacy to serve as the next Secretary General of the International Telecommunication Union. Director Bogdan-Martin would be the first woman in the role, and the first American to serve in it in more than 50 years. She is the right fit to lead the organization as we face the worldwide challenge of bringing the benefits of mobile broadband to all and continue the transition to next-generation 5G networks. The ITU, its global membership, and citizens around the world will benefit from her election to this critical leadership role.”
