CTIA Statement on FCC’s ‘Restoring Internet Freedom’ Proceeding

WASHINGTON – CTIA® has issued the enclosed statement from its Vice President of Regulatory Affairs, Scott Bergmann, after filing comments with the FCC today in response to its “Restoring Internet Freedom” proceeding. CTIA supports net neutrality and commends FCC Chairman Ajit Pai for  seeking to remove the harmful application of “Title II” utility rules to broadband service.

“An open Internet is critical for U.S. economic growth and that’s why we have urged the FCC today to return to a framework for regulating broadband that supports the dynamic and competitive nature of America’s world-leading mobile wireless market. We are hopeful Congress will adopt bipartisan legislation to create a permanent framework that fosters continued wireless investment and innovation.”
