CTIA Statement on Administration Announcement of Drone Pilot Program .

WASHINGTON  – The following statement is for attribution to CTIA® Assistant Vice President of Regulatory Affairs, Jackie McCarthy.

“CTIA and the wireless industry commends the Administration for these awards to advance innovative drone deployments. The program will examine drone safety while exploring new commercial and public sector use cases across the country. We look forward to continuing to work with the Administration, the FAA and other stakeholders on a common sense operating framework for drones that incorporates the proven capabilities of commercial wireless spectrum.”

CTIA® ( represents the U.S. wireless communications industry and the companies throughout the mobile ecosystem that enable Americans to lead a 21st century connected life.
