CTIA and ASCA Statement on January 2019 Contraband Phones Task Force Meeting .

WASHINGTON – The following statement is for joint attribution to CTIA®, the wireless industry association, and the Association of State Correctional Administrators (ASCA) about today’s contraband phones task force meeting in New Orleans:

“CTIA and ASCA are today holding a task force meeting on the important issue of combatting the use of contraband cellphones by prison inmates. The meeting includes a preliminary review of testing results on managed access systems and jamming technologies, as well as a discussion about best practices. We continue to be encouraged by the collaboration between corrections officials and the wireless industry to address this important issue.”
