America’s Wireless Companies Respond to COVID-19: October 16th Update


As the world adapts to the impacts of COVID-19, the wireless industry is providing solutions to ensure communities across the country have the resources and support they need. Here are some of the ways wireless companies lent a virtual helping hand this week:

  • Ericsson announced the launch of Ericsson Educate, a new platform of curated educational content focused on teaching K-12 students who are learning remotely due to COVID-19 about new technologies that are changing our world.
  • Verizon expanded its education initiatives through Citizen Verizon to help students get the skills they need to adapt to remote learning due to COVID-19.
  • AT&T is leveraging the power of technology to encourage connections with family and friends who may be facing mental health challenges as a result of the pandemic.
  • Samsung’s Global Goals app raised $1 million in donations for the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) which will contribute towards the long term recovery from COVID-19.

Now more than ever, wireless is playing a critical role in keeping us connected to our family and friends, our jobs, our schools and our communities, and we are proud of our members and the industry for their tireless efforts in these trying times.
