America’s Wireless Companies Respond to COVID-19: May 29th Update .
The wireless industry remains dedicated to keeping students, hospitals and frontline workers connected in the fight against COVID-19. Here’s how wireless companies lent a virtual hand this week:
- T-Mobile announced an increased use of its VA telehealth access program since the start of the health crisis. The partnership allows veterans to complete remote visits with their doctors without using their data bucket.
- Verizon partnered with Nurse-Family Partnership and Action Technologies Group to provide free iPhones to over 2,800 moms in need, keeping moms connected to their nurses during COVID-19.
- Intel teamed up with Akara Robotics to develop an autonomous virus-killing robot that uses artificial intelligence to navigate around humans and helps disinfect hospitals with Ultraviolet-C light, helping to keep medical workers and patients safe.
Now more than ever, wireless is playing a critical role in keeping us connected to our family and friends, our jobs, our schools and our communities, and we are proud of our members and the industry for their tireless efforts in these trying times. We will continue to share our members’ stories here and on the CTIA website.
