America’s Wireless Companies Respond to COVID-19: May 22nd Update

As the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic continues in communities across the country, here are some of the ways wireless companies lent a virtual hand this week:

  • AT&T announced a new program to train Dallas-area military veterans and their families for careers in cybersecurity as the usage of online programs has increased due to COVID-19. AT&T also donated more than 70 communication devices to FeedMore WNY to increase efficiencies of the hunger-relief organization’s operations during this time.
  • T-Mobile launched its #ConnectedHeroes program, a 10-year commitment to keep first responders connected by providing free 5G.
  • Verizon launched “Reset Your Mindset”, a two-part virtual wellness series, focusing on mental, emotional and physical wellness at home and at work. The live-streamed events, hosted on Yahoo, will feature entertainment, sports, health and business thought leaders.
  • U.S. Cellular is now offering its customers curbside services at many of their locations as a new safety measure during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Now more than ever, wireless is playing a critical role in keeping us connected to our family and friends, our jobs, our schools and our communities, and we are proud of our members and the industry for their tireless efforts in these trying times.
