America’s Wireless Companies Respond to COVID-19: June 26th Update .
The wireless industry remains dedicated to providing essential support and resources to communities, small businesses and frontline workers. Here are a few examples of how wireless companies lent a virtual hand this week:
- AT&T announced ‘Youth Voices Collective’, a literacy program that will provide instruction and publishing resources to thousands of students living in underserved communities. The program is part of a $1 million contribution to AT&T’s Distance Learning & Family Connections fund, which was created in response to COVID-19 to give parents, students and teachers tools for at-home learning.
- Qualcomm teamed up with RetailNext and other collaborators to launch ShopSafe, an initiative created to help American retail businesses reopen safely using AI and data-driven technology.
- Samsung collaborated with ProGlove, Procensis and Ivanti Wavelink to develop a bundle of contact-free wireless devices that will help reduce physical contact in the workplace and help retailers and warehouse workers return to work safely.
Now more than ever, wireless is playing a critical role in keeping us connected to our family and friends, our jobs, our schools and our communities, and we are proud of our members and the industry for their tireless efforts in these trying times. We will continue to share our members’ stories here and on the CTIA website.
