America’s Wireless Companies Respond to COVID-19: June 19th Update


As the pandemic continues, the wireless industry still finds ways to ensure frontline workers, communities and small businesses have the support they need. Here are some of the ways wireless companies lent a virtual hand this week:

  • AT&T introduced AT&T Summer Camp, a reimagined experience for kids, featuring free activities from a variety of non-profits that engage kids in learning new skills.
  • Verizon launched a new monthly web series called “Return to Business as Usual” which provides Enterprise businesses with the knowledge they need to adapt to the paradigm shift created by COVID-19. Verizon also expanded its “Food for Frontline Workers” initiative to doctors, nurses, and medical staff working in El Paso, TX and Chula Vista, CA.
  • Cisco donated wearable devices and other technology to Dairy Farmers of America to help optimize manufacturing operations and keep essential workers safe while feeding the nation during the pandemic and beyond.
  • Sony announced a contribution of $500,000 to the New York State COVID-19 First Responders Fund.

Now more than ever, wireless is playing a critical role in keeping us connected to our family and friends, our jobs, our schools and our communities, and we are proud of our members and the industry for their tireless efforts in these trying times.
