America’s Wireless Companies Respond to COVID-19: June 12th Update .
The wireless industry continues to provide essential support and resources for communities and businesses impacted by COVID-19. Here are a few examples of how wireless companies lent a virtual hand this week:
- AT&T donated $45,000 total to the Mississippi Food Network and the University of Mississippi Medical Center to support those on the frontlines of the pandemic.
- Verizon is hosting a virtual commencement for graduating seniors on the Verizon LinkedIn channel and offering a student discount to help undergraduate and graduate college students adapt to new ways of learning.
- Qualcomm is launching a Small Business Accelerator Program to supply traditional small businesses with equipment and services, helping them transition to mobile-first, remote-friendly work environments viable for our current crisis and beyond.
Now more than ever, wireless is playing a critical role in keeping us connected to our family and friends, our jobs, our schools and our communities, and we are proud of our members and the industry for their tireless efforts in these trying times. We will continue to share our members’ stories here and on the CTIA website.
