Economic Report Highlights Importance of Additional Licensed Spectrum for U.S. Mobile Economy
WASHINGTON – Today, CTIA® released a report it commissioned by Recon Analytics illustrating the significant economic benefit of providing access to additional licensed spectrum. For every 10 MHz of spectrum made available, the U.S. economy grows by $3.1 billion and over 100,000 new jobs are supported. There is also over $1.6 billion in additional economic benefits from mobile apps and content that rely on mobile broadband services.
“This Report provides an important reminder of the power of the wireless industry to help drive economic growth and recovery. We need to work collaboratively to find additional opportunities to unlock new spectrum for mobile broadband to support Americans’ mobile-first lives and to ensure that America’s wireless industry remains the global leader,” said Meredith Attwell Baker, president and CEO, CTIA.
