Day 1 of this year's show is kicking off from the keynote stage with a number of notable speakers: Lowell McAdam, CTIA Chairman, and President & CEO, Verizon Wireless; Sir Richard Branson, Chairman, Virgin Group; Robert Bach, President, Entertainment & Devices Division, Microsoft Corporation; and Dan Hesse, President & Chief Executive Officer, Sprint Nextel Corporation.
Day One will also feature a variety of CTIA Educational Sessions, several of which will be covered by CTIA podcasts and interviews. These comprehensive, in-depth sessions are categorized into three different "tracks": Mobile Blueprint, Mobile Lifestyles, and Mobile "Customer-ization."

Day 2 of CTIA WIRELESS 2008® continued on the vivacious keynote stage with two prestigious speakers: Arun Sarin, Chief Executive Officer, Vodafone Group Plc; and Marco Boerries, President, Yahoo! Mobile.
There was also an engaging Infrastructure Roundtable featuring: Lowell McAdam (Roundtable Chair), CTIA Chairman, President & CEO, Verizon Wireless; Patricia Russo, CEO, Alcatel Lucent; Carl-Henric Svanberg, President and CEO, Ericsson; and Mike Zafirovski, CEO, Nortel.
The educational sessions for Mobile Blueprint for Day 2 were: Defining 4G Technology; Handset Feature Set Road Map; Cell Site Backhaul: Addressing a Top Cost & Reliability Concern; Operating Systems, User Interfaces and Browsers: Where is the Technology Going?; Addressing Network Security in the Era of Open Access & Fully Functional Mobile Multimedia Devices; and Software as Services: Moving Beyond the Service Plan.
For Mobile Lifestyles: mCommerce – Leveraging New Technologies to Facilitate Mobile Shopping; Carrier CMO Plenary Address: Creating New Business Models, Products and Services in a Changing Wireless World; Search – Solutions to Discovering Content on a Mobile Device; and The Wireless Internet – Enabling the Mobile ‘Infotainment’ Universe.
For Mobile "Customer-ization": Mobile Demographics – Finding Up and Coming Niche Markets; Will the Mobile Internet See the Creation of New, Billion-Dollar Startups; Innovative Solutions for Commercializing Location Based Services; and Selling Mobile Content: Bundles or a la Carte.

Just ran back from this morning’s keynote. This one was great. While the topics of discussion were very often only tangentially related to wireless, I think there are some good lessons in the words of both Senator Edwards and Senator Thompson. More »
