CTIA Statement on Illinois Small Cell Infrastructure Bill .
“We applaud the leadership of Governor Bruce Rauner, Senator Terry Link and Representative Kelly Burke for their support of Senate Bill 1451. The legislation will lay the groundwork for the next generation of wireless and ensure the residents of Illinois are ready to receive the benefits of 5G. Wireless currently supports more than 221,000 jobs in Illinois and contributes nearly $23 billion to the state’s economy. 5G, the next generation of wireless, is projected to bring more than 1,000 new jobs and over $175 million in economic growth in Springfield alone.”
