
SAN DIEGO, CA – CTIA-The Wireless Association® announced today the newly elected board members and the incoming Chairman for the wireless industry trade group. Former Vice Chairman of the board, Ralph de la Vega, AT&T Mobility President and CEO, will begin his term January 2010 as the new Chairman. Mr. de la Vega succeeds T-Mobile USA President and CEO, Robert Dotson.
“As a distinguished leader in the highly competitive wireless industry, Ralph will undoubtedly be a tremendous asset to the Association and the industry as a whole in his role as Chairman,” said Steve Largent, CTIA-The Wireless Association President and CEO. “I look forward to working with Ralph in the coming year.”
Largent also commented on de la Vega’s predecessor, "Robert Dotson has provided the Association with strong, clear and consistent leadership on the most critical policy issues facing the industry. His leadership and dedication to serving the wireless community have been exemplary, and I have thoroughly enjoyed working with him.”
There will be 35 board members for 2010, including the following newly elected board members: AOL Vice President of Mobile Products Raine Bergstrom; Assurant Solutions President and CEO Craig Lemasters; CBS Interactive - CBS Mobile Vice President of Mobile Robert Gelick; and Tatara President and CEO E.Y. Snowden. The CTIA Board will be electing new officers and Executive Committee members in the coming weeks.
