Top Wireless Carrier CEOs Take the Stage at CTIA WIRELESS I.T. & Entertainment 2008®

Verizon Wireless, Sprint Nextel and T-Mobile Share Their Open Network Plans
Washington, D.C. – In what is sure to be a defining moment at the upcoming CTIA WIRELESS I.T. & Entertainment 2008® show, CEOs Lowell McAdam (Verizon Wireless), Robert Dotson (T-Mobile) and Dan Hesse (Sprint Nextel) will take the keynote stage on Wednesday, September 10 to discuss their plans for opening up their wireless networks, including the development and integration of open devices, operating systems and applications. CTIA WIRELESS I.T. & Entertainment takes place September 10-12, at Moscone West in San Francisco. Keynote sessions take place at 9:30 a.m. on Level 3 of Moscone West.
“Open networks continue to be an area of intense interest, and wireless carriers are clearly committed to the concept of ‘openness,’” said Steve Largent, president and chief executive officer of CTIA—The Wireless Association. “Attendees will have the opportunity to learn first hand how some of the leading carriers are implementing their unique open initiatives.”
Lowell McAdam is president and chief executive officer of Verizon Wireless, and also serves as CTIA chairman. Robert Dotson is president and chief executive officer of T-Mobile USA and the incoming CTIA chairman for 2009. Dan Hesse was named chief executive officer of Sprint Nextel in December 2007.
Additional keynote speakers scheduled to present on September 10 include Marco Boerries, executive vice president of Connected Life at Yahoo! Inc., Craig McCaw, chairman of Clearwire and John Stanton, founder of Trilogy Partnership. McCaw and Stanton will provide an introspective look at the early days of wireless and their unique insights into how the industry is evolving.
