Wireless Safety Week 2008
Since 1990, CTIA-The Wireless Association® and wireless carriers across the country have co- sponsored National Wireless Safety Week to raise awareness about the important role wireless technology can play in enhancing public and personal safety. This year National Wireless Safety Week is June 2nd-6th, and the industry is reminding consumers to keep wireless safety in focus by learning more about the important safety initiatives below.
This initiative is a free public service that allows America's 250 million-plus wireless subscribers the ability to help law enforcement in the search for abducted children by opting in to receive Wireless AMBER Alerts as text messages. Learn more about the new Spanish Language Enrollment site!

This informative program equips parents and teachers with tips and tools to help students defeat digital bullies by practicing proper cell phone etiquette and safety behaviors.

This campaign reminds consumers that safety is your most important call when behind the wheel. There’s a time and a place for texting, and while driving is not one of them. Be responsible, don’t text and drive.

CTIA reminds consumers that texting can be a valuable safety tool, especially in times of emergency or severe weather when communications networks may be challenged. Take time to learn how to text!
