Product Overview
MLB Team alerts provides on-the-go, real-time baseball information (breaking news, live score updates, and more), to mobile baseball fans via text alerts for $3.99/month. The service launched in May 2005 in the U.S. and Canada, and is available for sign up through the MLB website or from a mobile phone via text message.

How to Get Baseball Alerts

  • Logon to www.mlb.com/mobile and follow the instructions to select a favorite team and enter your phone number. Users may also follow the instructions below on their mobile phone
  • Enter your favorite team’s name as a text message (ex. Phillies)
  • Send the text message to the shortcode 65246 (‘MLBGO’ on most phones)
  • Fans are required to confirm they would like to opt-in to the program and receive instant confirmation of their subscription
  • Alerts are launched to fans as they happen
  • The monthly alert fee is charged to the fan’s mobile phone bill
  • Fans can opt out at any time by texting the message ‘Quit’ to 65246

Common short codes (CSCs) are administered by a single CSC Administrator (CSCA) - CTIA-The Wireless Association® - for a group of U.S. wireless carriers. In addition, the CSCA oversees the technical and operational aspects of CSC functions and maintains a single database of available, reserved, and registered CSCs.
