Wireless Internet Development Department

As the wireless industry continues to grow and expand into new market opportunities, the Wireless Internet Development Department addresses the increasing number of issues confronting this rapidly evolving segment of the industry. The Department staff provides support to CTIA’s Wireless Internet Caucus (WIC), a group comprised of association member companies and focused on the wireless internet and its vast potential to deliver products and services consumers want and need.

With the support of the Department, the WIC identifies impediments to the development of wireless data products and services as well as that of the marketplace, and builds industry-wide solutions. The Department also serves as a rallying point for wireless Internet companies on public policy issues of importance to the wireless community, such as spectrum management and privacy.

Wireless internet is positioned to deliver incredible possibilities to consumers in both rural and urban settings, and the CTIA Wireless Internet Development Department is poised to assist the WIC in realizing this unique and enormous potential.
