Policy Department

The CTIA Policy Department is the association’s “think tank,” a reservoir of expertise that centralizes the development and the implementation of the wireless industry’s public policy. The Department works in concert with CTIA’s Government Affairs, Regulatory Affairs, Legal and Wireless Internet Departments to develop the positions needing approval by the association’s Board of Directors and then works to implement them as public policy.

The Policy Department works closely with CTIA’s Public Affairs Department to ensure the association is effectively communicating one voice to consumers, legislators and regulators regarding all of the consumer benefits, technological innovations and economic growth fostered by the wireless industry.

Another primary responsibility of the Department is to sponsor initiatives with its members to educate key government policymakers, regulators and the investment community in order to accurately and effectively convey the wireless perspective in the debate on all of the issues involved in expanding the wireless frontier.
