Government Affairs Department
The CTIA Government Affairs Department represents the wireless industry and carries its message to Capitol Hill and to the various Executive Branch departments and agencies. The Department conducts outreach to federal policymakers to educate them about wireless technology, the economics of regulation, and the multiple benefits the competitive wireless industry is bringing consumers. This Department also works with CTIA members with offices in Washington, D.C. to complement and reinforce the wireless industry’s policy initiatives in Washington, D.C., and represents them as well as other members who do not have a presence in our nation’s capitol.
Issue areas continue to widen as the wireless industry expands with new service offerings, enhanced products, and a larger consumer base. Policy areas include a national framework for wireless, taxes, business issues, consumer protection, public safety, environment, and spectrum. CTIA’s Government Affairs Department has an outstanding reputation as a valuable resource for policymakers and their staff, and is equally effective in educating CTIA members on the critical policy topics that affect the wireless industry.
